Damauli, April 10 (RSS): Senior leader of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has said the Byas Parasar area in Tanahu district would have tourism potential. At a discussion held here today, senior leader Poudel appreciated the efforts initiated to develop Byas Parasar area as the Hindu pilgrimage.
He informed that endeavours were being made for long to make Damauli, the birthplace of Vedvyas, known to the world. "I admire the efforts made to beautify the suspension bridge built over Madi River to connect Byas and Parasar," he said, expressing hope that it would help boost religious tourism. Beautification should be completed on time, he stressed.
According to him, develo0pment activities are intensified at Manukot of Byas-5. Senior leader Poudel expected similar intensification of development activities at Byas and Parasar.
Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane informed that they had initiated works to develop Byas as a site of religious tourism.
Consultant Suprendra Pande shared information that it would cost Rs 5.9 million to complete beautification of the Madi Bridge. Detailed project report (DPR) was prepared for it.
Installation of attractive light alone would cost Rs 2.1 million.
The Byas gate would also be decorated. Even the stone sculpture of Parasar and Satyawati would be placed at the gate.
